Ridgefield Farm and Orchard
Open Now; Saturdays and Sundays 10 AM to 5 PM
Harpers Ferry, WV
Head to this local farm to pick a pumpkin, score a bag of fresh apples, find your way through the daytime corn maze, go for a hayride and visit the store to shop for preserves, their famous apple bread or cookies. And beginning October 16, Ridgefield Farm will re-open for nighttime festivities like a moonlight hayride, pitch black corn maze on Friday and Saturday nights until 11 PM.
Old McDonald's Pumpkin Patch and Maze
Opens September 26, 2015; Saturdays 10 AM to 6 PM, Sundays 12 PM to 6 PM
There is no better place to be in autumn than at the pumpkin patch and this local hotspot in Inwood fits the bill. Go on a hayride, wander through the five acre corn maze, find the perfect pumpkin and browse the antique tractor display. There are also various nature trails to explore!
Martinsburg Chili Cook-Off
October 3, 2015; 2 PM to 5 PM
Downtown Martinsburg, WV
Join the 11th annual chili cook-off in downtown Martinsburg this year for games, crafts, live music, beverages and of course, great chili! There will be dozens of contestants making their beloved chili recipes for visitors and each batch is to be tested by you and voted on by you! All proceeds from the afternoon-long event go toward the revitalizing of historic downtown Martinsburg.
Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival
October 15 through October 18, 2015
The Annual Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival is a favorite local event this time of year! Held on Queen Street in Martinsburg, the Apple Harvest Festival lineup includes a parade, craft show, 5K, apple peeling and eating contests, apple pie baking contest, apple display, photography contest, Queen's Court and more.
