Greetings! We hope you are enjoying the last full month of summer! Don't let the fact that it's already the third week of August scare you. There's plenty of time for more summer fun and food! Strawberries, corn-on-the-cob, fresh peaches, family reunions, beach or mountain trips, picnics.................what a great time of year!
Alas, all summers must come to an end and when this one does, many Jefferson County high school students will start the year in the brand new Washington High School. This gleaming new school, with Principal Judy Marcus at the helm, can have an enrollment of 1,100 students. With 70 classrooms, a cafeteria and auditorium that can each seat 500, and a gym with a capacity of 1,500, there should be plenty of space for faculty and students alike. Known as the Washington High School Patriots, with red, white, and blue as the school colors, we're sure the students will take great pride in their new school. While construction has been ongoing at WHS, an expansive renovation project was completed at Jefferson High School, built in 1972, bringing it up-to-date to the point of feeling like a brand new school! The Jefferson High School Cougars will have brighter and newer spaces, and more of them, in which to do their learning. Go Cougars! Go Patriots!
The Kable Team wishes every student, from kindergarten through 12th grade, a great school year! Work hard and make honor and achievement your goals!
